We know that, traditionally, everyone tucks in to a turkey at Thanksgiving – but that doesn’t mean that us vegans and vegetarians have to miss out on a delicious dinner! There are plenty of tasty and innovative alternatives to eating meat at this time of year, and you can still make your Thanksgiving meal something special. Ours even made good use of all the pumpkins left over from Halloween!
Not eating meat can benefit your heart, bones and reduce your risk of cancer (as detailed in the ‘Why Go Veg’ section), so we’re keen to keep it up all year round. After all, not paying out on your Aviva health insurance means you’ll have more to spend on all those Christmas presents next month! Take a look at our scrumptious Thanksgiving treat below, which I hope will inspire others to try making their own meat-free Thanksgiving dinners.
There were only 2 of us, so it wasn’t elaborate, but it sure was delicious. We had pumpkin risotto, caramelized brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and biscuits, with some great wine and pumpkin pie for dessert.

The plate looks amazing! Pumpkin Risotto sounds great. What recipe did you use? I would love to try!
